Bullshit

The death penalty is bullshit, straight up...that is all there is to it. There are no moral advantages to it, only financial ones, and it is primitave and inhumane for today's society. Fucking Absurd. Tonight, Tookie Williams will be executed. He was the cofounder of the crips, one of the largest, worst gangs in LA, and he got convicted for the ( Read more... )

In case anyone cares: Scripture does allow for the death penalty. If you don't believe me, look it up yourself. And if you don't think that means anything, then I suppose that's just your problem.

And don't even try to quote the 5th commandment (Thou shall not kill) to me, saying that it's a contradiction, becaues that's a worthless argument too. In the anctient Hebrew it was first written in, there are two words, one meaning Murder, and the other meaning Kill. There's a huge difference, and the commandment uses the word for Murder every time it's quoted.

the death penalty isn't murder, it's killing, usually people who have commited murder. perhaps if they didn't want to die, they should have thought of it before they committed murder.

and besides. why is everyone so afaid of dying anyway?

First off, allowing for and encouraging are not the same thing, and just because ones religion allows for something does not make it mandate...so it isn't my problem, its my opinion ( ... )

and dammit, lol...They didn't want to die and they killed no one else. Yet their lives were sacrificed because of those who felt they didn't deserve to live for a crime they didn't even commit. You seem knowledgable on scripture, so I will relay one thing I heard third hand in question to you. I heard, and it makes sense, that the "eye for an eye" theory was in the old testament, and the "turn the other cheek" was in the new. that under consideration Christians, should follow the latter seeing as how the New Testament are the teachings of Christ no? bad phrasing because I'm tired, and this is all relayed knowledge as my own knowledge of the bible is very VERY limited, and I will be the first to admit it. this is just agian something that I would like to know.

Although I did not write the previous post, I think it would be best if I reply on behalf of my seemingly more angry, less informed, associate, before that person makes them self look any more.....irrational ( ... )
