Comcast network improvements

Here in Everett, Verizon is selling fiber-to-the-premise internet access and Comcast is working hard to compete. Finally sick of the half-megabit Verizon DSL that comes with my condo's HOA dues, I had Comcast install a "standard" cable internet connection here.

Advertised speed:
"Up to 6 Mbps."

That's phenomenal! The upstream speed of a T1 and half the downstream speed of a DS-3, for $30 a month? No wonder they've been struggling to manage peer-to-peer traffic...
