So "Borrowed Heaven" by The Corrs was playing on my computer when the phone call came.
"We were wondering if you were still interested in being a clerk? We'd love to have you."
Me: "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!"
"Oh great, we're sure you'll be a great clerk and do a great job --- NOT that you're not doing a great job already...."
Me: "HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAA"
"And we talked to your supervisor and she is very happy for you."
Me: "Oh GOOD!"
So I start training June 12th and 13th...
I am shaking cuz I'm so nervous. I put off calling my supervisor for a bit... so I wouldnt be so hysterical :P But, when I did, she congratulated me :) I plan to bring her a little something for being so incredibly cool for the last 5 years. They are going to have a little celebration for me. I am going to work next week, right up until training, and ironically enough, my last day will be Buccaneer's Day, whereupon I will be spending my day in a booth on the field. The booth is also something I talked about in my interview and I got away with saying "Cuz I've represented the library there." So next week I'll be spending Saturday with the new youth librarian -- also paradoxically, her first day and my last.
So I am very excited about starting something new, but simultaneously terrified cuz it will change everything.
For example, remaining at the desk when patrons approach instead of running away.
I will miss my headphones.
