I'd really like to see something where (pre- or post-Thor/pre-Avengers or even post-Avengers) Loki recognizes trying to fit in does nothing good for him, and even if his family does try it just isn't enough, and he finally leaves.
His departure is bittersweet--he's sad to leave the place he once called home, but at the same time he's happy to be out of an environment that has never been suited for him to a place where he fits in and has a chance to heal mentally.
Where he goes is entirely up to the author. I just want to see something where Loki recognizes where his problems lie and leaves because he realizes staying for the sake of his family is doing himself no favors, and just making him bitter and resentful toward them.
I'm more interested in seeing Loki's personal growth and him finding strength and peace within himself, but if the author wants to include a pairing I'm okay with that as well.
Bonus: Wherever he goes magic remains a big part of his life, and his mastery of it is respected and appreciated

When Loki was emotionally drained after an almost disastrous adventure with Thor, he laid on his bed and thought long and hard about his home. Thor never truly appreciated his magic, after all, they were raised to think that it was cowardice. Amora wouldn't hesitate to leave his side if it suited her own needs. When Frigga saw him, her eyes were sad, even when she encouraged him to take up the mystical arts.
Loki couldn't help but think that Odin saw him nothing but a disappointment. The spare heir to the throne conjuring up illusions, tricking people into embarrassing situations, too focused on books than the glorious battle history of their realm. The exact opposite of the ideal Asgardian warrior and prince.
He heard the hushed whispers and gossips of his home. Thor was going to be the new king of the realm. The same Thor who almost started a war due to a slight in his honor. The same man who always puts himself in the thick of the battle for the enjoyment of it.
Loki made his decision as he stared out onto the stars of Asgard.
(Hay my first fill where I actually deannoned)

He listened as Thor boasted at the feast table and didn't make any remarks or pull any of his usual tricks. He rested on Thor's bed as he talked about training, weapons and of the maidens that had caught his eye. Loki listened and when it was over and Thor wasn't watching, placed one of his daggers on one of the many tables. He hugged Thor and got an awkward pat on the back for his trouble.
Loki didn't know how to spend his time with Odin. The All-Father was busy and held numerous counsels through out the day. He didn't talk during dinner unless a few tankards of ale were in him.
Loki had not managed to embrace his father but left his favorite earring on the throne where it could easily be found.
The second prince of Asgard disappeared in the middle of the night, hiding from the gaze of Heimdall.

I really like the quiet atmosphere that this has taken on in these parts--it kind of emphasizes (to me at least) how Loki has come to this conclusion and just feels like it's natural and unchanging, the way things have always been and always will be. It kills me that he spent the week being as nice as he could to his family as a means of saying farewell and even then couldn't think of a way to do that with Odin, but I'm so glad that he could leave without blowing up on them and hurting them and himself in the process.

Will there be more? Will his family realize how much they failed him, that he reached the point he couldn't bear to stay around them anymore? (Even worse, will they care?) Please, write more!

He approached Frigga who was looking at something in the palm of her hand in confusion. He asked if Loki was about because his favorite roasted boar was served for lunch and Volstagg wouldn't wait much longer.
Frigga had frowned in concern, looking mystified as she looked around her parlor as if something was wrong. She and Thor went to Loki's chambers while Frigga clutched the simple gold ring to her chest.
Thor banged on the door in his usual manner, waiting for any noise from the other side of the door. There was none and he pushed open the door with a little too much force behind it.
The room was neat and clean, books on their shelves, jewelry polished and in its glass case, bed neatly made as if it was waiting for someone to lie on it. No signs of a struggle. It was if Loki had just stepped out and would be back later.
The neatness unnerved Thor along with the fact that Loki's armor and helmet were still on it's stand.
They went straight to Odin, not caring if the council was going into session. Odin was standing at his throne, holding Loki's sapphire earring in his hand, looking mystified as why it was there.
Frigga ushered the nobles out of the throne room.
While the family urgently talked, a Lucas Grimm was renting a room from a nice old lady in New York.
(Not really sure how this turned out)
