Soulmates?....
A good friend of mine and I hung out on Saturday evening and did a bit of philosophizing. She presented the idea that there are multiple soulmates for people (most of them not necessarily romantic in nature). They are the people who are always a part of your life, no matter where or when you find yourself. I liked that idea. I almost want to take it a step further to consider whether or not people can unwittingly be guardian angels of others. Almost like their presence is a good luck charm. There's this particular person in my life that's had a very profound effect on me, and always seems to show up in my world just about the time I'm making or have just made an important decision in my life. Even though she's in and out, her existence in my life spans more than a decade. Longer than my two longest relationships combined. It really starts me thinking about people and connections. I definitely like the idea of platonic soulmates.
