I just spent about an hour working out how to convince MacPorts that no, actually, I don't want the X11 version of SDL; I want the gorram Mac version. There are two sets of packages present in MacPorts for SDL. There's a libsdl and a libsdl-framework, a libsdl_image and a libsdl_image-framework and so on and so on.
