Let me introduce the most unfortunate Avalon Spade, illegitimate daughter of a first-generation German prostitute and a Japanese political ambassador who she doesn't know the identity of. About five years ago, her mother turned her life around and married a widowed wealthy tobacco farmer with a penchant for gambling and they moved to the lovely Abaton City where she was promptly met with less than lovely reception. She's a 17-year-old sophomore in the year 1934, and last year her elder step-sister graduated Adessi Hall, although very few realized they were related as Avalon isn't able to take her step-father's name and her sister wants very little to do with her. Her sister Dorothy Bishop was quite vocal against the inclusion of boys at the school and publicly ridiculed and bullied them with unapologetic viciousness.
Perhaps in 2012 she would have had an easier time and faced less discrimination, but Avalon's mixed ethnicity and the unpopularity of Asian immigrants in the 1930s as well as her out of wedlock birth to a prostitute has been enough to cast a rather dark reputation over the otherwise normal girl. Her first year of school she had been hopeful and eager to prove herself as capable of fitting in, maintaining good grades and a friendly attitude. Yet she quickly realized that proper society would never see her as much more than an abomination and she found herself outcast even after doing everything "right." Toward the end of her Freshman year of school, the previously mild-mannered Avalon snapped and began lashing out. She's extremely bitter and unhappy, dangerously teetering on the edge of violent breakdowns while still trying to maintain an outer appearance of normalcy. Rather than internalizing her frustrations as self-hatred and quietly sulking, Avalon resents everyone else around her and (sometimes preemptively) takes it out on her peers.
Unsurprisingly she can be a bit of a downer, ready to burst your bubbles and rain on your parade. She has a slew of talents that she picked up in attempts to make herself respectable: painting, piano, embroidery, and a wide knowledge of classical literature and poetry. At the end of last year, she was banned from the book club and the library after ripping out pages from a book and attempting to shove them down another student's throat. Since then, her reputation has only plummeted and those who believe she should be expelled from the school feel even more justified. As convinced as she is that she hates everyone, Avalon is incredibly lonely even as she pushes away even those with the best intentions, as she can't help but see everything with a highly negative bias.
She still lurks the library even though she's not supposed to check out books, and spends a lot of time on the roof tending to the gardens.
She's not the easiest person to build CR with, but feel free to suggest anything~ Even if it's them being horrible to each other.
