Blah, so I am going to update because I'm an inconsistant bastard.

I don't think I posted about this before, but I think I did about Denver. Well, it turns out, in Denver, Merrick contracted roseola. I guess it's dormant with zero symptoms for the first week or so... it might be 5-12 days or something (I could be wrong and I'm too lazy to look it up). Anyway, she got it from one of my friend's daughter, who was not showing any symptoms at the time. So... the Thursday before last, as Chris and I were driving home from work around 4:45PM, we get a call from the babysitter to let us know that Merrick had a fever and was puking. Chris thought they said 102 degrees, so I freaked, but we later found out it was 100.2. Men. pfft. So we go pick her up and she's hating life. From Thurs afternoon through Saturday (didn't go to daycare on Fri, obviously), she had a high fever... reaching 103.7ish (it was 102.7 under her arm) at some points and puking up whatever we gave her. Mid-Sat, she stops puking and then a little later, she's somehow all better... back to her shrieky little self. Sunday rolls around and she's cool. We go out for breakfast and whatnot. Everything is fine and dandy. Monday rolls around and we go to take her to daycare. We're greeted with a sign on the door that says it's the sitter's birthday holiday and so we can't drop Merrick off. I'm pissed because she knew we weren't there on Friday to see the reminder sign and she didn't even bother to call and tell us. Anyway... So I take monday off because of that. Then when we are getting Merrick dressed on Tuesday morning, Chris notices these teeny red dots all over her torso. I stay home yet again (i had the most PTO accrued). Kaiser says it's roseola at that point. The next day she still has a rash, and this time Chris stays home. By night, you could barely tell there were red dots on her. Thursday morning, the spots are nonexistant so we take her to daycare, where the sitter then blocks the door and yammers on for 10 minutes with Chris and Merrick standing on her porch asking for a doctors note. Well... we didn't get one because we had talked to her once a day for the past fucking week and she never gave any hint that she needed one. Chris at this point starts getting pissed because she's not saying yes or no that she would take Merrick that day, she just keeps asking if we can get a doctor's note. Chris is like... NO... you didn't ask for one. I can understand needing the doctor's note, but fucking TELL me that you need one before I have to drop my kid off so I can go to work.... Not really a great time for me to drop everything and run to the doctor. Anyway... we were going to switch babysitters and have a coworker/friend's wife be her new daycare, but we're going to give this chick a shot and see if she can actually start communicating with us when we need something. That and I know Merrick loves them and they love her. I wouldn't want to pull her out unless it was clearly necessary. Though I really love Jen's (coworker's wife) parenting style. She basically shares my views for the most part and she is very aware and involved in watching a child. She's not licensed, though, which to me doesn't really matter since I know her personally and would trust her to care for Merrick.

So yeah, that's last week. This week, I have thrush again. This is getting ridiculous. The crappy thing about this 7:30am-4:30pm shift is that I can't go to the doctor. I have to take a day off and schedule all my appointments for that day. I'm so used to having thrush now, that I'm okay with waiting until fucking July 10th to go to the doctor for it.

Speaking of boobs, Merrick is showing no signs of weaning. This is both good and bad. Good because as odd as it sounds, I love that closeness that we have. I like feeling like even if I'm not the worlds best mother in every aspect, I'm at least doing something good for her. The bad is that I keep getting thrush.

Saturday night, we went to a party for some friend's birthdays. Lots of DnB goodness. Some Wii goodness. Reminds me that I miss hanging out with Morgan and DevCo. I need to visit more often.

Yesterday, went to the aforementioned coworker's house (Scott and Jen) to watch the air show from their yard. They live really close to Mather field, where the Thunderbirds were. Merrick was a pain in the ass. She's the bully I think. She can't let other kids have stuff or share. I hope I can nip that in the bud because it's just not cool. I don't want her to be that kid.

Okay, time for work and shit.
