Gack. Because your replies reminded me - and not because I'm falling back into my bad old ways - and I wasn't planning an xmas Harry fic on the tube this morning, oh no - but . .
A short while back I happened to be passing through Kings Cross, and in search of a cash machine I found myself passing through a fine Victorian archway onto platforms 9a-10b. To the left of the archway a simple sign in British Rail font proclaimed the entrance to - of course - platform 9 3/4. Nothing fancy, nothing Disney-esque. To complete the picture some enterprising soul had hacked off the front end of an ordinary luggage trolley and bolted it to the wall. I love it! Understated, commonplace, and because of that it's totally magical with no need for CGI.
Has anyone else seen it. What do you think?
