Year in Review

So, 2012 happened.

All in all, a good year. There were some really hard bits - losing my uncle John was rough, and that last lingering awfulness of cancer was something I had been hoping to never do again. But I got to finish the vest I made for him, and talk with him while he was still lucid, and that means more than I can say. My grandemother's dementia is getting worse - it's so sad how much is gone in a year.

There were unexpected awesome things - I bought land! I went to Puerto Rico! - and good things - my brother continues to be awesome, H and I are getting closer, I have grand plans for the future, I briefly worked a fantastic 4/10 schedule, which improved my life tremendously. I learned new things: gem faceting, pickling, iOS development, objective C, wet felting, carding wool. Work got good, and then bad, and then fucking awful. 7 Virtues ended. I made new friends, had some lovely (if always too few and too short) visits with some old ones. I went on some dates, maybe cracked a heart, but mine is still intact as it's been for a while. I made some things, but not enough. Crafted more, but not enough. I discovered some new favorite places, and settled into things here a little more. I somehow completely missed restaurant month, so I need to make up for that in 2013. I played with a 3D printer. My hair is officially long again.

I did not go skydiving, so that's still on the list for this next year.

2013: New job, sky diving, house. It'll be a good year.
