Busy weekend! My mom sadly had to cancel, but I still got a lot done. Spent one day pickling things, so I can scratch that off of my list of things to learn to do this summer! I picked garlic, hot peppers, and made dilly beans. Jars make the cutest little 'pop!' sound as they cool down and seal. It's pixar-level of cute.
I also got to spend some quality time with my metalworking tools - made two leaf pendants I'm really pleased with (pictures coming, once I have some better lighting). The torch setup is really good, and I've talked to my brother about metal shears, and why we need some. That'll make my life a lot easier, once I don't have to do so much hand sawing.
I also managed to clean my house a bit (including the kitchen, post-pickling day), make gazpacho, go shopping, and run a gazillion errands. Which is good, as life is about to get crazy again.
On the up side, I have some really fun plans in that crazy: Wednesday I'm meeting up with artist types at ADX, so fingers crossed that is as cool as it sounds. I've got a guest visiting, and am looking to buy a new car, and my mom might come out over the long weekend, or I might go out to eastern WA to visit family. And in a month, I can try my pickled things!
