whoo -- just sent off applications, resumes, editing samples, etc for a copy editing job at The Onion and a contract editing job for a book on architecture and historical preservation. I spent about three hours retooling my resume to get one academic version and another that looks like I can edit your funny all over the place (...or your entertainment listings, which it looks like the Onion job would mostly be. but whatever :).
