Oh wow, an update!

Hello, my loyal readers. Were you starting to lose faith in me? So was I....

I have been completely swamped here at work, and just not in the mood to sit in front of a computer once I get home from work - aside from the fact that the office at home is probably the hottest room in the house.

Here's a little update, just to keep you entertained (if only momentarily). Work sucks even more. I will be moving to Utah in less than a month. Dave got a new, awesome car.

I think that's about it. Is anyone looking for a job? Mine totally sucks, and I am leaving next month. You probably don't want this job, but I suppose if you are desperate you might need it. Or maybe if you have an acquaintance that is driving you insane and you want them to hate you so you don't have to deal with them ever again - go ahead and tell them you know of an opening. The people here are nice, but it is just really irritating work. Basically, it requires any and all skills you have - as well as doing miscellaneous tasks a slightly trained monkey could do. UGH.

Here is a story about my weekend, just to increase the length of this entry. Friday: I don't remember. Oh, we stayed in and watched a video. Saturday: Went to an aunt's house to visit another aunt who had flown in from her home state of Hawai'i for a surprise visit, which was nice. Then it was off to a bridal shower/wedding party. Hello, awkward. Social politics become really annoying the older you get. The shower itself was decent, I guess. Just not really my thing. It was for a former college roommate/friend from high school. There were a bunch of women there I didn't know, who all seemed nice, but it was a bit too much estrogen for me. I ended up hanging out with the few guys who were there...namely Dave (who I dragged there), Bobby (the fiancé, as well as one of my best friends from high school), and Derek (the best man, and another good friend from high school). Then it was off to visit another high school chum at an apartment warming party. That also started out a bit awkwardly for me, as it was only a few people I knew, and then a large age mixture of miscellaneous other friends of Tony and Jaymo's. It was interesting, though...and we got a free barbershop concert! (Tony is a member of a barbershop quartet as well as a barbershop chorus, or something along those lines.) Supposedly, there was to be a free jug-band concert as well (Jaymo is a member of a jug-band) but the band didn't show up. Later in the evening, more of the old crew that I was familiar with showed up, and it was a grand old time :) Sunday: Slept in. Went to Purgatory Chasm to take a brief hike around. The hike was under a mile, I think, which was just long enough for such a hot day. It's a really neat place; I highly recommend going there sometime to check it out. Then it was time for some of Dave's delicious pork chops, then some ice cream.

Last night, there was a really creepy bug in the house. It looked like an extremely fast-moving tangle of hair. What it ended up being is something called a "household centipede." Seriously, go look one up on Google images or something. Creepy as all get out. Dave was kind enough to deal with it for me, but of course he had to tease me about it for the rest of the night ;P Naturally, I didn't get much sleep last night. I kept feeling like there were bugs crawling all over me. What little sleep I did get was filled with dreams about bugs being on me, my boss calling to ask me to do annoying work, and some unknown pedophile that I was trying to sneak away from without them knowing that I knew their secret so that I could report them. (I say them because I don't feel like typing s/he, him/her a bunch of times. Deal with the incorrect grammar.) So, what is the best way to start my day after such a traumatic evening and not enough sleep? Well, naturally, it was to find a big spider near the shower. The bug grabber Dave got me wasn’t quite powerful enough to suck it up and trap it so I had to enlist Dave, who kindly dealt with it for me. It was not a very pleasant start to my day AT ALL.

Alright, since I am at work, I should get back to doing some more of it. There is less than a month left before I leave, and a lot of people I want to see! I’m not the greatest initiator, so if you want to see me and you haven’t heard from me, please give me a call/im/message/email/other contact.

Later!
