I am so friggin annoyed right now. It's just one of those days.
Actually, it started yesterday. It was just one of those days that was so hectic at work that I thought my mind was in fast forward all day. Then I got home, and it seemed to keep going. Then, I had had something on my mind that I thought was in a positive situation....when I found out to the contrary. And that pretty much always sucks. I felt so deceived, and the worst part was that it was I who had deceived myself. Ugh.
Anyway, I went to bed on that note, and my dreams followed suit. I didn't sleep much (I kept waking up, tossing and turning, etc). One of my dreams involved Dave breaking up with me, and then bringing his new girlfriend to flaunt in front of me. Then this morning, I couldn't find a weather-appropriate, body flattering, work-suitable outfit. Then I got to work and it was about 50 degrees in here, and the outfit I ended up wearing was too cold. Then there's just this huge pile of crap on my desk, NONE of which has enough information from the various people that have dropped it off with me. Lunch time comes around, and I went to make a left turn (which I HHHHAAAATTTTEEEE, for the record), and I literally waited five full minutes with no sign of me being able to turn. I ended up doing the old, turn right, pull into a parking lot on the other side of the road, and make a right from that side. Excess driving to accomplish one simple maneuver just because the timing of traffic was terrible. I was going to get some gas, but EVERY PUMP at the gas station has a cone in front of it. No gas for me, I guess. Lunch...well....I tried something new. It was pretty gross. Hey, it was free, but gross. After lunch, I'm working on a task for one of the guys, and I have to call this unidentified person to ask for some unspecified material, which she is trying ot help me narrow down on the phone. Another phone line rings. There are three guys in the conference room waiting for a call. Do any of them answer it? NO. Then another rings. That means I am on one line, and TWO lines are ringing. The lady gives me the last step in the process I need to go through, and I quickly pick up one line on about the ninth ring, and manage to transfer it just in time for my boss to step out of the conference room with this look like 'WTF, why aren't you waiting on us hand and foot with a silver tray of lovely finger sandwiches and cappuccinos while at the same time doing our laundry, mowing our lawns, and doing detective work to solve all of the problems of the world within the span of 5 minutes?' Fortunately, I was able to snag that last call just before it hit the voicemail, and transfer it into the conference room in time.
The "businessmen" that work here are stuck-up, cocky, and expect a level of servitude not necessarily appropriate in this day and age.
If the phone is ringing and you are waiting for an important call, are you SO UNBELIEVABLY COCKY that you need someone else to answer it for you as some show of your "importance"? Especially if there are two other lines going at the same time?
F*CKING A, MAN.
