A story about my wonderful weekend:
Friday:
Got home from work.
Received the check that Evan owed me from our old apartment. You know, the one I moved out of in August?! (I may have received it Wed or Thurs, but the excitement of not being owed money lasted through the weekend.)
Saw Dave (always wonderful :*).
Went to McDonald's for Filet-o-Fish Sandwiches. (Apparently that's a tradition for Dave during this season. I thought they were GROSS.)
Went to see 'V for Vendetta' with Dave and our friend Ben (my friend since high school, Dave befriended him in college). EXCELLENT movie. I liked it a lot. Even now, I am thinking about it, wanting to see it again. It will most likely go on my "purchase" list when it comes out on dvd.
Saturday:
Slept late. (Always a pleasure!)
Walked down the street to the breakfast diner. Had some homemade French Toast and some bacon.
DEEEEEEEELIICCCIIIOOOUUUSSSS
Hung around, contemplated plans for the day. Fun stuff :*
Went for the FIRST HIKE OF THE YEAR!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!! (I'm not a hard core hiker, nor am I particularly in shape for the vigorous hikes Dave would prefer, but I do enjoy a good hike in good company. Plus, come on, it's pretty cool to say, "I went hiking in March.")
On the way back from hiking, we got dinner at Friendly's. It was delicious....BBQ Chicken Melt, or whatever. You've seen the commercials....the ones that advertise a free "Happy Ending" sundae with the meal. Oh man, it was soooo gooooooooooooood. I LOVE BBQ chicken. And the sundae, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I hadn't been to Friendly's in sooooo long, and it was DAVE's idea. He doesn't even really LIKE Friendly's, but he knew how excited I was to go and get that deal. It was so good :D
Watched 'Fantastic Four.' Not as good as either of us had hoped, but hey. It was entertaining.
Sunday:
Slept late again. Yessssss.
Dave made delicious omelets for breakfast - eggs, milk, onions, cheese, peppers, tomatoes, and sausage. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :D
We went grocery shopping in the most organized fashion I have ever been grocery shopping. (We picked out this week's dinner-plan AHEAD of time, I made a list for the most part aisle-by-aisle of what we needed, Dave pushed the cart. You have NO IDEA how wonderful that all felt!!!!!)
Then we each kinda did our own things for awhile...cleaning off desks, cars, doing laundry, exercising, etc.
Dinner - chicken nuggets, tater tots, salad, and a delicious smoothie. :) Nothing says "healthy dinner" like the favorite elementary school hot lunch. (Hey, the smoothie was about 95% healthy, to make up for it a little.)
Then some more alone time. I pulled out a fold-out from "Women's Health" about some good waist exercises and went ahead and did some. On my own. This is a step in the right direction, since previously I was only doing stomach exercises (mainly just crunches) if Dave did them next to me. Last night I took the initiative and did them on my own, as well as added some new ones. (Can I get a gold star, or a pat on the back? I guess I don't really NEED the congrats, because I am happy for myself anyway.)
But ya, it was a great weekend. Hopefully every weekend will continue in that pattern of greatness; not only for me, but for you as well :)
