Today I'm going to try an lj cut using the Rich text entry option. I've got a bit of research left to do on how to use my livejournal. Next, I think I'll try to find out if I can copy and paste from Windows XP Word directly into the entry box without losing italics or other features.
So, after receiving some kind encouragement (thank you,
misplaced_arse ), and thinking about why exactly I signed up for this exercise, I've decided to try to write write. Which is, to write something that's a little more than just thoughts and livejournal exploration.
I don't think I'll jump in both feet first; instead, I'll continue with the gradual wetting. A few more posts to experiment, some diary-like entries, and maybe just a sentence or two of original work.
I'm definitely going to sign up for Yuletide (sick exciting!), and while I can't post snippets from the actual story, I'll use the ten-minute exercise to help myself get into the habit of writing. Putting ink to paper, or rather, digital information to electronic medium. Is that a correct analogy? Probably not; the things I don't know about computers could fill a set of encyclopedias.
Wow, ten minutes already. I'm feeling more hopeful already. And hopefully, this cut tag will work.
ETA: That cut didn't work at all. Looks like I've got more experimenting to do.
