So today I should be leaving the hospital after my dad gets here and takes care of all the paperwork (I don't speak hebrew or arabic and the staff only speak basic english so telling them what i need would fail hard)
Seriously it's not that I mind hospitals, they aren't exactly supposed to be oasis's of paradise but I do have a few hang ups.
1. Lack of english proficiency. I understand i'm stuck in a foreign country and all but considering the only language they seem to teach at the schools here is english you'd think they can speak abit but most of them have terrible english, being told NO you can't do that is fine, obviously it's medical instructions but when they just kinda shout it and don't even try and speak politely it's really hard not to get pissed off.
obviously if there so bad I don't expect them to be to polite but at least try make your tone sound polite, some of them were just downright rude.
trying to ask for basic things even is a nightmare, e.g
I ask for tea so they give me teabags and sugar, fine but I have nothing to do hot water with and try and ask for a kettle, they don't know what this is and then eventually show me the hot water machine for adults (was in peadiatrics so I could stay with my sister) but as not to be rude i still try and explain, -_- guh.
2. Isreali nurses. I don't know if its the language gap or just their genreal conduct but alot of the nurses here really annoyed me.
sometimes it would be just the language gap and sometimes they would just be pushy about something when I didn't need it medically so it's fine.
and then obviously there's the whole lets wake him up "gently" to take blood pressure etc without any tact is fucking shit.
seriously, poked to wake up only to see the blood pressure thing put on half awake...
(not that i have problems with needles or anything )
actually it's only 2 things but you get the idea.
so for now it's just going back to my grandmothers in Jerusalem, YEYS.
I have NO IDEA how to face her.
she sounds really bad on the phone and my dad says shes practically bruised all over, fun fun fun 2 days before i fly back on saturday huh?
