confession #1: when walking and listening to my ipod, i cannot help but to walk along with the music. this includes attitude and/or pace. also, sometimes i like to practice my model walk. i've seen maybe ONE episode of "america's top model" to know HOW to walk along the catwalk. so, sometimes i try and practice it. unfortunately, i do this when i'm NOT at home. i worked from home on friday and decided to walk to subway for lunch. on my way back, i was listening to aaron smith's (ft. luvli) "dancin'". i decided to practice my model walk to this song. i don't think it looked very good, since i was wearing jeans, a hoodie, and my new balances.

i have a strange and uncanny ability to unknowingly pick the smelliest stalls in public bathrooms. almost on schedule, the women's restroom at my work smells in the late morning. it makes sense since this is enough time after the majority of us has eaten breakfast and have had at least ONE cup of coffee. unfortunately for me, when i walk into a smelly bathroom (which also makes me SO HAPPY i don't have a cube next to the bathrooms), i unconsciously choose the stall from which the bad smell originates. i do this EVERY time. even when i change up which stall i use (i normally use the stall furthest away from the door that's NOT the handicap stall), i find myself in the smelly stall...no matter what. i just do my best to breathe through my mouth.

marshall and i went clothes shopping this weekend. we both got gift cards ($30 off $75 purchase, or $15 off any purchase) for express. i also wanted to see if old navy had any of the clothes i saw last weekend; items which i found intriguing. first stop was old navy. i got a pair of linen-type green shorts, a black-and-white striped cotton dress, a gray-and-white striped shirt (boat-style neck with short puffy sleeves, sounds weird, but looks good), and an orange summer-style polo (surprisingly looks good on me, and i don't do orange well). they had these cargo roll-up pants, which i totally dug, but they didn't have them in my size. i tried on a different color to see how they fit and they fit kinda funky, as does all old navy pants do on me (they insist i have a tiny waist and huge hips OR a wide waist and no hips at all). i'm wondering if i can find similar pants elsewhere (perhaps REI, which also had some cute clothes, too? hiking-style clothes, but cute nonetheless)... anyway, next was express for men. marshall found some great new polos, which look HOT on him, and a new printed t-shirt. there were some other cool t-shirts, but they didn't have his size. up next was my turn at express. i found a pair of plaid editor city shorts, which i need to find a top for, 2 in-bra camis (FINALLY!) and a black denim mini-skirt. the coupon came in handy and brought my $100+ total to around $80. score! we poked our heads in at the gap, but i couldn't find anything that blew me away. lately, i only find gems in the sale rack at the gap and that takes time, which we didn't really have.

marshall bought his bike this weekend. it's pretty snazzy, too. unfortunately, even though he had the guy ORDER him the bike he wanted, the one they got for him, wasn't his right size. turns out, the size that marshall needed (the gigantic size, whichever that was) was completely out. the manufacturer didn't have any more and weren't making any more (apparently the new bike "season" starts in a month). marshall ended up with the only bike the store had left in his size, the floor model. it also was a step up from the bike they originally ordered for him. what sucks is that even though he got the floor model, he didn't get any kind of discount. i found this to be a little crappy, but they tuned it up before selling it to him, which is a plus. it's not like getting the floor model of a stereo they've been sampling for a year, for which you're practically guaranteed a discount. in any case, marshall's really stoked. he loves it and even rode it home. :D

i took my bike in a couple of weeks ago to get tuned up. now, this isn't the bike my parents got me before i went to college (with the intention that i would USE it in college - yeah, UC santa cruz and bikes - not for the amateur biker), this is the bike that i WON the very last day i was in college. that's right, i WON a freakin bike and was notified of said win as i was moving out of my dorm on campus before graduation the following day. kinda crazy, i know, but kinda cool, too. it's a snazzy mountain bike, which probably won't use to its full potential. but it's shiny and cool-looking. i rode it around the block once when i got home and it's been sitting in my parent's garage since. my mom took to riding my old bike, which she really likes, so i took back the shiny new one. the tires were unused and flat and when the guy at the shop took a look at it, mentioned trimming the gear and break cables a bit (they were a little long). being the season for bike-riding, their repair shop was packed. the best they could get me was this thursday. hopefully, i'll get it this weekend and marshall and i can start riding around town. :)

the summer movie season is in full force and marshall and i are doing our best to catch up. so far we've seen:
iron man - we went opening weekend and it was AWESOME!
chronicles of narnia: prince caspian - saw it last weekend and it was good, but i liked the first one better.
indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull - saw it saturday night and it was okay. confession #2: i have NOT seen any indiana jones movies. this didn't make watching this movie all that difficult, but i'm sure i missed out on any running jokes or gags from the other 3. overall, it was enjoyable.
sex and the city - first off, i'd like to say that i was a fan of the show, but wasn't all that into the idea of a movie. i went and enjoyed it, but it didn't blow me away. it felt so far removed from the show that i didn't enjoy myself AS MUCH as if i would've watched any other episode. it was also very long. i will say that if you are a HUGE fan of the show, you'll enjoy this. it just didn't feel very "sex and the city", imo. (p.s. i'd like to add that i found the series finale to be very good at wrapping things up; i didn't feel there needed to be any sort of follow-up)

there are still plenty that have come out and that are coming out which we'll be seeing. two movies that opened this weekend, kung fu panda and don't mess with the zohan, are on our list. this weekend is the hulk and next weekend is wall-e and get smart. still to come this summer is the dark knight.

we also watched stardust yesterday. i thought it was thoroughly enjoyable. i thought everyone involved did a fantastic job with their parts. there were some plot and character development which was lacking, but overall i liked it. particularly the character played by robert deniro - fanfuckingtastic.

lastly, safeway is currently trying to get rid of the DVDs they've been keeping on their shelves. they have a BOGO-thing going on. i found the CBS mini-series alice in wonderland on sale (this came out when i was 3 and in my possession is a TAPED version, which commercials - the ending is also taped over with an episode of a local show called "people are talking", courtesy of my dad). we were going to get l4yer cak3 (layer cake), but it was only in fullscreen, no widescreen available. so instead, we got jerry maguire.
