Woman fired fromTSA after being accused of casting spells

Apr 05, 2011 12:13

A woman, who practices Wicca, was accused by a co-worker of casting a spell on her car heater. She was subsequently fired. Mind you, the only "evidence" was that the car heater wasn't working and that the accused is a Wiccan.

Quick re-cap: A) Such spells don't work; B) If they did, they would be a violation of the Wiccan Rede (Harm None); and C) There is absolutely no evidence backing up this accusation.

Private e-mails from the co-worker and several managers revealed a pattern of harassment leading to the firing of the woman. One contained two words: "Hammer Time," evoking for me the infamous 15th century document "Hammer of the Witches (Malleus Malleficarum)" which led to the witchcraze of the 16th and 17th centuries.
