I graduate in less than a month and I couldn't be less excited. What does graduation mean for me? It means losing my job at the help desk and probably going on unemployment. It means being stuck in Marquette because I have no job prospects, not even an interview anywhere. There is still absolutely no one hiring.
I check careerbuilder and monster.com daily and they are both overrun with scam jobs. Meanwhile, Sarah is unhappy because she has to work 50 hours a week at two jobs and wants to get out of this town as much as I do.
That's graduation. Going to college seems like a total waste to me right now. Wish I could say I was optimistic about new jobs coming in the next six months, but I'm just not.
So I've sent my resume out to a dozen companies or so that aren't hiring, that's the best I can do.
I don't want to be stuck in MQT working for minimum wage for the rest of my life, but at this point there is no way out.
