Poor Lex, Christmas can be such a hard time if you're feeling alone, and I imagine Lex feels like that all the time despite all the people surrounding him. But yay for mistletoe, and for taking a chance. You're right - this drabble definitely wants to be a fic.

winds himself around Clark like tinsel This is quite an image - especially since tinsel clings. A lovely addition to the prompt. I'm going to go look for the longer version now.

Ooo, never mind, I see you've got the link up. Yay!

You are so quick! I was in the process of posting and left that link hanging - you snuck in before I got back to it :)

I'm glad you liked the tinsel. That's probably my favorite part too.

I can't wait to get to the longer fic, but this was fun by itself.

Lex needing/wanting Clark to be there, for all the various reasons. (Whatever you have to tell yourself, Lex.)

But them alone, with the mistletoe and Lex presumable a little braver for imbibing?

winds himself around Clark like tinsel. That is quite a lovely simile, as well as a fantastic image.

I do love his lies, don't you? :D

The tinsel was probably my favorite part of this - the peppermint felt like a complete throwaway, this was what it was all about.

Wah. :( Poor Lex... I'm so glad that Clark was there for him with it! And the last to leave so Lex can indulge himself. I love the combination of spicy smells and the image of Lex surrendering.

(I was thinking about doing one with schnapps! ^^)

Hee, great minds think alike!

That Clark ... so thoughtful ... no ulterior motives at all :)
