Do you know I've only JUST gotten my head around "rift? what rift?" LOL sometimes I am so slow on the uptake.

I'm sure Lex would NEVER orchestrate a strategic leak. NEVER. Nope, not EVER. ;-)

Clark is just so USED to keeping secrets - and not to belabor the prompt but everything is so black and white to him. I don't think he'd ever fully grasp the concept of a secret you don't mind everyone knowing.

I love that we're so on the same wavelength that you knew he was about to ask "You don't mind?" when Lex interrupted him :)

I love stories where they are secret lovers. I just wish that SV had ignored the DC history and kept Clark and Lex even as arguing friends. I'd have preferred lovers but given the homophobic climate I can understand why not. At the beginning of season 7 Lex was still trying and always being pushed away when everyone else was forgiven over and over again!

So sad and so true. And I don't think Lex ever STOPPED trying. Come on, making it so Clark and Lana have to break up forever? Who does THAT except a jealous ex?

I like to imagine a backstory where the filter shifts ever so slightly and they ARE together. It's not a far cry from the friendship they do share in canon.
