Seriously?
So I've been away from the interwebz for a month and have much to catch up with. One of my favorite things to do is search Google News for "polyamory" and related terms, and see what pops up.
And, of course, I read the comment threads on what pops up, too.
And I was reading a few articles, and seeing the usual commentary. Comments on articles on dailymail.co.uk can actually be rated similar to a "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" system by readers, which shows a comment's popularity.
On
this article, a story about sexologist Jaiya Ma raising a son and living with with two boyfriends, the most recent comment, with supporters (225 of them!)...
"She only cares about her precious orgasm, selfish woman surrounded by 2 feminised males, i feel soory for this kid."

I noticed a link to another article about 30 year old virgins, at that point.
"Virgin Diaries." I was definitely interested, and I fully expected to read an article about women who were saving themselves for the right guy, and I admittedly expected to read comments in massive support of them and their choice.
Yup, ladies saving themselves for the right guy. But, what do the comments say?
"How silly these young ladies are, how are they going to cope when they are married, tied for life to a man, (According to Religion), when on their first night their man is no good in bed; or, not 'adequate' in size capable of providing female sexual satisfaction. They would wake up next day, devastated. Far, far, better to have found, and, tested, the right man first."

Really? It's not okay for a woman to have two lovers, NOR is it okay for her to save herself sexually for the right man? What a confusing world we have made here for the ladies. Must we be so hard on each other?
Through writing this entry and further scrutinizing comments, I guess the light at the end of the tunnel is that there ARE people out there rooting for acceptance of adults and the lifestyles they choose to live. In fact, in
this more recent Los Angeles CBS TV news coverage video of Jaiya and her family, Jaiya is active in the comments section, responding to the "haters," and challenging them to explain their views to her, to help her understand.
I can only hope she doesn't lose sleep over the comments.
Rock on, my diverse blogging friends, rock on.
