Okay, so last night was incredible! not only did we almost win against stevenson, but tom came to the game!
alright, one thing at a time. kyle and i were almost late getting to the game because i was talking to tom online and i thought that call time was 5:15 because that's the pep band call time but then i thought about it and i was like, shoot, it's 5:00! so then i had to rush to get changed and gather all the stuff i needed in order to get there on time and i got there at exactly 5:00. Tom had told me that he wasn't coming but something he had said to me or not said had made me suspect. So during the pre-game i kept looking for him then making myself not look for him because he'd told me he wasn't coming. pre-game went well, except that when the football players were coming out of the tunnel 1) they came out too early 2) one of them tripped and fell and we ended up with a dog pile of like six of them. it was so humiliating.
we had a lot of issues with the bleachers because some instruments were sitting in the wrong places and consequently the flutes were left with only one row to fit all 30 of us. didnt work well. some moved up to the color guard row, but only about seven. so there were still way to many of us on the one row. i tried to get mr. V and miss D to help but there was nothing they could do. nobody would move. in the meantime, the flutes were literally sitting shoulder to shoulder, and in order to play our instruments we had to turn almost perpindicular to the stands. it was ridiculous. finally miss D moved half the color guard into the sousaphone row and gave the flutes more room from that point on the entire game got much easier! Desiree came to tell us that tom was there and rebecca and i went over to visit them. tom's been corrupting zack, i guess. *shrugs* i don't think that zack minded as much as desiree did.
the halftime show went well. there were some glitches that i'd expected and a few that i hadn't, but all and all we didn't completely fall apart. the closer was the worst, but i'm still immensely proud of my little flutlings for all the hard work they've put in. they did such a great job and they're smiling faces kept my spirits up even when i was near dying of closterphobia. lol.
then after the game i went to the party at emily bergmann's house. i made tom go too, well rather, i told him he should and he consented. it wasn't neccessarily an exciting party, but i enjoyed it. mostly i spent my time on tom's lap talking to him, jess jess, and cookie. then he told me he had to go, but to come with him to his car. so we walked a long way down the road to where he parked and he admitted to me that he didn't think his car was going to start. he was right. i told him i'd drive him home, but i couldn't take the car with me. lol. i was really tired and not completely making sense. so anyhow, he called his dad to let him know that the car wasn't working and his dad said he was going to come out. so tom and i went back to my car and he laid down on the seat. i put a pillow under his head and sat next to him. he's cute when he's sleepy. we talked a little as we waited for his dad to show up. mostly we were both half asleep.
when his dad came we walked back down the street to tom's car to meet him. his dad did surgery on the car with a flashlight and little items from his car-repair purse. i got into the passenger seat next to tom and consoled him for the death of his car. he told me to stop being weird. i didn't. then one of the times that his dad told him to turn the key, the car actually started! i was so excited. i think it was after the jumper cables got used. his dad shined the flashlight in my eyes and pretend to be a police officer busting us. lol. then he told tom not to turn the car off because it was the car starter. i asked tom when his dad became a car doctor. in my mind i likened the jumper cables to a defibulator. anyhow, i kissed thomas goodbye and went home. his dad followed him home so he could make sure the car didn't die again. it was very VERY exciting!
now its today. tom's at work. i might work tonight, if it doesnt thunderstorm. i haven't worked in like two weeks. its kinda sad. oh well.
