WAE

Oct 08, 2011 21:21

I did this post on March 17th! But didn't post it because I was worried
that I'd misconvey it. But, what good is it sitting in a private post?

W→Water
A→Air
E→Entertainment

WAE is made up the initials of the three essential components that make up the project.
WAE can be said to be the circle that connects the victims (of the earthquake to the company).
The name comes from the thoughts/feelings of the employees and talent attached to the company.

The three ways that WAE will be showing their support:
1. Company-wide charity auction
2. Donations collected by the agency
3. Fund-raising by the artists.

We're currently collecting donations and items to auction.
Ideas can be sent to: info@watanabe-ent.com

Endo Yuuya

We want to send cheers to bring smiles to the face of the affected. For now that's all we can do.
To be honest, we can't laugh
It hurts our (hearts), it feels like we'll burst open.
But, I think a little at a time we can bring heartfelt smiles.

Yanagi Koutarou

It's small but, let's make it a day where you can smile soon.

Wada Masato

We have... what this sort of earthquake can't make shake, we have a strong faith.
We won't forget... as this quietly finishes, to bring heartfelt smiles.
A lot of aid... a lot of goods...
Together with those, we will join our hands to yours and deliver dreams and hope.
Ganbare, Japan!!

(Note. This far more eloquent in Japanese. Sorry Wada!)

Suzuki Hiroki

SMILE!SMILE!!SMILE!!!

(Just like that in English <3 )

Igarashi Shunji

Right now, as the (news) announcement increase, so does the number of victims.
I think as with me, everyone's experiencing varous emotions; pain, sorrow, anger.
But, at a time like this, we must co-operate, we must not stop, I want (you) to move forward with (your) heads up.
Of course, I must must also do the same.
The future can be (molded) by our own hands as much as we can.
Happiness can be grasped with our own hands. For this reason, for now, we will aim for your smiles.

Araki Hirofumi

For this project, what is it that *I* can do?
I think for myself as an actor, I can use what is necessary for me to survive, like water or air, that's entertainment.

(Note: I think I made him sound flaky but the gist is that this what keeps him going so he's going to use what he can )

Kaji Masaki

It's (a small thing) but I want to see you smile soon.

Seto Kouji

At a time like thing, we must band together, let's help each other!
What I can do may be small, but I'll do it with all my strength!

Yanagishita Tomo

Everyone, please don't lose hope!
I, will do what I can no matter how small.
If it's one smile or many, I will do my best.

Makita Tetsuya

I'll deliver hope. I want to see your smile.

Usui Masahiro

I think every day, fear and anxiety are growing.
As such in order to change your faces in smiling ones, we'll carry the burden (of your smiles) and work hard as actors.

Mikami Masashi

Everyone,
let's strengthen our wills
let's co-operate,
let's become one.
I pray from the bottom bottom of my heart that there will be no more damage.

Adachi Osamu

Each and everyone one, reach out and join hands.
Each and everyone, do your best.

Takahashi Ryuuki

The hard days continue, but,
but at these times (you must keep) your spirits up.

Hashimoto Taito

At a time like this, smiling and co-operation is essential.
I'll also co-operate so I may be useful.

Yamada Yuusuke

I'm praying from the bottom of my heart for the safety of those affected and that the day they recover come soon.
Until the day they can smile, I will work tirelessly as an actor so I can delivered that smile.

Horii Arata

(Smiles) and Courage, these are (two) words I value.
I don't know what I can do, but I'll go on each day.

 Shirota Yu

Everyone, we could not live without love. Now is the time to unify our hearts. You're not alone.

Nakamura Masaya

I keep thinking, isn't there anything I can do?
Now my friends at the company and I are searching for a solution.
For now, we're praying for everyone's (safety).

Nakagawa Shingo

Let's unite! (Our) small strengths.
Let's assemble! Everyone's smiling faces.

----------
Notes. It didn't say so on this page, but, when Miki announced this, she also said they're dedicating 100,000,000 to it.
This was in an article that exclaimed "200 person union!" on Sanspo and translated by Tokyograph here.

As it mentions, the slogan of it is Wa e
imakoso danketsu. Wa means ring or circle (so since they are the one
normally the ones receiving the support, they now doing supporting). So
this means something like "Let's unite now (in) a ring" and the whole
water and air thing makes me picture all of them running in fields
holding hands and making chains of daisies to put in their hair.

It also doesn't say here but proceeds from certain WE goods will also go towards the charity, like the D-date single. Also, go here to tilmon's post.

Locked b/c translation is so awkward and possibly wrong.
I despise sentences that end in を
Saying Genki o (dashite) means anything from cheer up to get a grip so yeah corrections encouraged.

wada, shirota, nakagawa, araki, yanagi, mikami, d-boys, taito, tomo talks aloottt, usui, adachi, zukki, makita, seto, endo
