Much of Miscellany

Ugggh. I'm currently watching some medical tv show on Channel 7 in which someone is POKING THEIR FINGER INTO A LUNG. Squick.

Onto what I was posting about.

Die APEC Die

Stupid bloody APEC. I went to King's Comics after school today to buy Buffy #6. Of course when I get there , instead of a pretty little, brand new comic, I find back issues of the old ones. So I ask the person at the counter, who informs me that, because of the APEC long weekend, the shipment had been delayed to Saturday. This of course, screws up my entire system as I always by the first edition Jo Chen cover on the first Thursday of every month. I'm not even going anywhere near King's Comics during the weekend. I might seem pedantic and crazy but I really want to have the first edition now. It's killing me that people across Australia have  read the issue when I haven't and probably would've read at least twice by now. (I'm scary that way) I'm just hoping that they still have the Chen cover on Monday... other wise I may go postal.

 Buffy S2

I've never really appreciated how freaking awesome S2 of Buffy is. There are so many awesome episodes that I forget about and don't realise how great they are. I really wish I could've watched Buffy right from the beginning instead of jumping into the middle of S7. Hopefully my sister will buy the rest of Angel soon, since I still haven't watched most of S3-4.

 Californication

I watched the first episode of Californication a couple of days ago but haven't had the time to post about it. First off, let me say that I was totally grossed out that Mia is played by the little girl from The Nanny. That's so disturbing on so many levels. It exceeded my expectations and I found it very funny. I laughed out loud when we found out that Mia was 16 years old. I found Hank an interesting character and I'm pretty sure it can be milked for many seasons. However, his incessant cockiness might grate my nerves after awhile. I really liked Karen's character and found her really likeable although Channel Ten's incredibly irritating ads in which they mangled one of her lines put me off initially.

I'm not sure if the nudity works with the show. I kind of understand how it's supposed to express Hank's attitude and use of sex but I don't think it's being used as maturely as it was in shows like Six Feet Under. I'm hoping that they'll be less needlessly crude in future episodes.

But, If CF can keep up this quality, I think I'm going to have another show on schedule.

My hands hurt so much from typing this up, so I think I'll put off posting about Alias's 100th episode (*woot!*) to tomorrow.

ETA: I've just started to use Semagic to type up my posts as, for some reason, LJ doesn't have a rich text editor in Opera.
