It might be some summery afternoon when Emmeline goes in search of Sugar. The young woman has done a fine job raising the girl, better than her own biological parents. Well, Sugar can be found in the library, predictably, where she is writing quietly a note to herself. She started keeping a diary for sanity purposes a while ago, and has since found the need to do this almost daily.

She can be accosted, though.

Spying Sugar, Emmie might clear her throat lightly. "Ahem... Hello, Miss Sugar, I hope that I am not disturbing you, but might I have a moment to speak with you?" she asks.

Sugar looks up from her writing and smiles. "Mrs. Fox, of course," she replies, standing up to curtsey. "Please, have a seat. How do you do?"

"I am quite well: the clean air of this place has done wonders for my health," she says, as she sits down, and she does look good: her color is the best it's been in a long time, and there's a dignified briskness in her movements. "I hope that I wasn't interrupting anything important: dare I ask, are you joining the ranks of the resident authors at work in this place?" she asks, easing into the conversation, breaking the ice before broaching the subject...

Sugar puts her writing away, closing it regardless of the fact that the ink had yet to dry on the last page.

"Only some scribblings," she replies, though she is amiable - Emmeline Fox was kind to her in London, and her daughter is very fond of her, and so Sugar in turn is warm to the older woman.

"To pass the time," she adds dismissively.

This has been dropped for nearly 3 months - should we summarize and FTB?
