Notes: Another silly old drabble. My inability to write Riku and Roxas apparently has been a long-standing one.
Riku had known Roxas wasn’t one to give in easily - heck, that was why he had needed to give in to the power of darkness just to beat the kid. But really, this was just unbelievable. Not only had the Nobody regained consciousness on the way back to DiZ’s place, but he was actually trying to convince Riku to let him go. The determination was nearly tangible.
“I said put me down!” Roxas was shouting, pounding on Riku’s back. He had given up trying to kick Riku in the face, as the older boy was holding onto his legs tightly.
“Like I’m going to listen,” Riku snorted, hefting the blond into a better position over his other shoulder. “You’re not even strong enough to punch me properly at the moment.”
Roxas fumed at the indignity of it all. “Why are you doing this?”
Riku was silent but didn’t falter when he finally answered, “I need my friend back.”
“Need, huh? You don’t feel bad at all about using me to do that?” Roxas goaded, layering on as much guilt to his words as he could. “You don’t care about other people?”
“Not as much as I care about my friend,” Riku answered simply, wincing slightly as Roxas elbowed him in the back of the neck. “Besides, you’re a Nobody. You don’t care about people either.”
Roxas glared at Riku the best he could from his current position. “Yeah? Well what’s your excuse?”
Riku didn’t answer. There was no point in arguing; he’d sacrificed enough for this whole plan already.
