On the 8th of May, as you know, I had my little set up at the table to let people know about why they shouldn't use plastic and to try to get them to stop using it. I was surprised by the number of people who signed up, it was over 50.
So far though, it seems like not many people actually did it. Most of the replies to the survey are that they didn't use much less plastic and that they don't plan on using less plastic in the future. This is kind of disappointing to me because I was really hoping that I could inspire someone to use less.
If you pledged along but didn't come by to sign up you can take the survey here:

So far I have been doing pretty well. We have drinking fountains with water bottle refill stations in them at my school. We have one in the Werner Center and one on each floor in the Health and Wellness Center. I have been taking my water bottle with me every day there in order to fill it up. It's a little out of the way, but I have eliminated needing to buy plastic cartons of water this way. The water is filtered so it doesn't taste like anything which is really nice.
Also, I've been eating a lot more fruit and vegetables since I started. For lunch and dinner I used to get bags of chips or containers of yogurt or something along those lines but now that I cannot do that I have been eating healthier things instead. I think this is going to be a good change for my overall life.
The only thing that I have cheated on is that twice now the weather has been really nice and my boyfriend and I walked to Dutch Bros. and got smoothies which come in plastic drinking containers. They are pretty tasty but they make me feel kind of guilty. Today we are going to get ice cream in a cone instead which won't involve any plastic at all.
