So the evening wasn't wasted. Hallie and I split up at The Bronze. No doubt she enjoyed an evening of good, care-free vengeance. I envied her. At least for the care-free part ( Read more... )

What was this?!? "Everyone congregate at the Magic Box" Day? Please!

And not two days after my affirmation to rid myself of these damn Scoobies in my shop.

"Look, the munchkin had questions about Spike and Angel," I informed then. I'd been busy answering phone calls and the like while the conversation had gone on. I turn around for two seconds, and my shop becomes the Bronze! "And my dear Hallie, who has leave to be here, showed up. Then this Tucker guy comes, and no, I do not have the texts yet and you have yet to settle the rest of that bill. Which means money."

I turned to this new girl, this Fred.

"And now you're looking for Angel here. Why don't we just call Giles and the rest of the gang?" I threw my hands up in exasperation and huffed.

"I'm Anya, by the way. Nice to meet you. Care to buy anything?"

"And, Dawn, what else could you possibly want to know? Angelus equals evil. Spike equals evil. And I really don't care how much of a jones you have for Spike or how much of a jones you think he has for you. He's a vampire. You can't change the evilness. Get over it."

I really was losing my patience. And feeling a gigantic need to exact some vengeance. On...somebody. Maybe I should close shop early today and hit the Bronze....or not.

This is promising. Anyanka really does seem to have returned to form. Little Dawn is involved with Spike, which can only end in badness for her, believe me, I know. I've met an intriguing human man, who doesn't seem to be nearly as obnoxious of the rest of them. What a wonderful day!

"Anyanka, dear, there's really no need to get so upset. Just because all of these humans have invaded your place of business, which we really should talk about, by the way, I mean, what self-respecting demon runs a shop, there's no reason to get rude."

After all, just because we aren't white hats doesn't mean we can't have manners. And on a day like today, what's there to be angry about.

"I'm feeling quite chipper actually. Does anyone feel like making a wish? That would just make my day complete."

I can feel my nails digging into the palms of my hands as Anya opens her mouth. Of course, I don't expect any more from her, she's always been tactless, but that... that's just none of her business. I try to breathe and appear calm without turning red or screaming at her. Stupid vengeance demons and their stupid ways.

"This has nothing to do with Spike and me and... anything, okay?" I snap at Anya. Calm, calm, yeah, gotta stay calm. "Which in itself is ridiculous. But whatever, that's really not the point. I'm just trying to find out background information, history and stuff because I'm tired of being the only one not knowing something."

Right. Probably not good to freak out in front of two vengeance demons, the strange Tucker guy who's always showing up around us and the new Fred girl. Probably not cool. I can feel Halfrek's eyes on me, all greedy, and I stare back at her. Not gonna make a wish, alright?

I turn to Fred. "We knew something about Angel's son, but Holtz... that's just weird. Angel was around earlier, but I haven't seen him since last night."
