RL with Maggie-san

So soon after returning to the Soul Society; Toshiro found himself 'trapped' (as he would put it, anyway) on that community. Strange... so many nice people there; yet at the same time...

Well, that was the exact reason why he had to return to the world of the living. Though, not his 'own'; anyway. He carefully coordinated plots - where some of the ( Read more... )

SORRY THIS IS LATE h4ck3r_61rl May 11 2009, 00:43:05 UTC
Maggie was wandering around her apartment as she normally does while by herself; arranging things, cleaning, picking up after herself and guests that she may have had recently (in this case, it had been Harvey), and making dinner (or lunch, whichever the case may be). This time it had been dinner, and as she finished loading the dishwasher and switching it on she poured herself a glass of red wine and lounged on the couch.

Flicking through the channels would soon get boring though, and she let the dog (and cat!) out of her bedroom for some company other than the TV.

"Watch Isis." She advised the tiny puppy, who always seemed to be rather oblivious to the cat's well intentioned pouncing. Isis never actually hurt him, but the puppy never seemed to actually learn, despite repeatedly getting shut down by a cat.

Gigai or not; the best means of entrance? Through the window. This would have been a lot more convenient, if he could stay in his spiritually body; but he had the feeling Maggie was just another human who couldn't sense spirits. Which, considering the variety of individuals he had met already, and where he came from... this was actually refreshing.

He still had a lot to learn about the human world. Like, the use of a door. Old habits die hard; after all.

"It was Maggie right?" his voice was soft in person, much like how he probably came across on the community. And if he hadn't had spoken up; it was a big possibility she could have overlooked him (if you could overlook a 'small child' in your window)

is okay, I luff you <33 h4ck3r_61rl May 11 2009, 12:17:28 UTC
Maggie yawned, kicking her feet up on her coffee table while the cat and puppy played together. It had been a long day/week, and she was really glad to be home at the moment. Her reverie was disrupted at the voice, and her name.

Oh, Jesus Christ and all that was holy someone was in her apartment. How had they gotten in? She didn't give a lot of pause to think it through, instead she gave a small screech, flinging the remote unceremoniously at her new visitor.

"Who are you? What do you want? Take whatever you need!"

Toshiro moved quickly, dodging at the remote thrown and let it 'clunk' at the window, then drop and he stood up, keeping his place by the window.

"No, it isn't like that-- agh.. thats right. I didn't mean to startle you. Introductions are needed. I'm Hitsugaya Toshiro. I know you from that place; Drama Drama Duck?" In retrospect; it probably would have been better to let her know somehow he'd be in the area. Or in her house later that evening. Whichever.

"There isn't really anything I'd need though." he smirked, already walking closer and stopped at the arm of the couch, just looking at her. He couldn't have stood more than four and half feet at best.

She watched the remote hit the floor with a dispassionate look, readying to launch herself at her intruder when his words stopped her.

"The community...?" She scooted away from him, narrowing her eyes when he came closer. Her eyes suddenly lit up with recognition.

"Oh! You're that little guy that knows Grimmy and Ggio!"

"That little guy?! I'm a shinigami you know - and trust me, the pleasure of knowing them can be all of yours." Never had he heard someone call the dangerous arrancar by a name that sounded so... harmless? She was either very very oblivious; or... well she wasn't dangerous. He could feel her soul was in the right place, and as human as it could get.

Human innocence, almost.

"I just thought I would stop by, but now I apologize for not giving you notice. Things are a bit urgent on my end..." he looked around her place. So much stuff. Humans always did have comfortable homes.

"Are you still on that kick of them being big bad mean guys?" Maggie stood up, grinning wryly. Her 5'7'' stature gave her at least a heads height over him. Giving Grimmjow the nickname was how she showed her affection. Ggio's name was short enough, it didn't need anything added to it. He was cute enough as it was. Part of the nickname was obliviousness, too.

"Well, next time you are more than welcome to use the door. I'm sorry I threw my remote at you." She nodded towards the door. She'd prefer that, people randomly showing up at her place was beginning to become commonplace. She wasn't sure if she liked that or not.

"Not 'bad', but they are my enemies; and have been for a long time - that can't just change overnight. Hate them.. well; no. I'm trying to understand." His eyes followed to the door, and he looked up at her with a small scowl. "If I tried to use the door, would that have been any better? Besides I'm pretty sure you keep it locked."

He gave her a small glance up again. "Since I'm here; if you aren't busy then maybe I could bother you for some of your time."

..."You knock on it. You don't just waltz into peoples houses. Not here, anyway." Maybe that's how they did it in his world, letting themselves in through windows and doorways. Weird. "Well, they shouldn't be your enemies." Maggie clarified for him, sitting back down and gesturing for him to do that same. "They're sweethearts, really. Rough around some edges, but overall...nice." She gave him a nod and a grin. She normally didn't like people that were short and young (kids irritated her!) but he was just damn adorable.

"Sure, you can hang out a while. Need anything to eat or drink?"

Interesting. He did wonder himself that if he wasn't a shinigami, but just a normal 'mortal' like so many around the community if he would see them the same way she does. Ggio; anyway.

Quietly he sat down near her as he listened, sitting on his legs and slowly shifting to sit up straight and rather politely for such a 'young child'."Thank you; and no... I think I'm good-- unless you have some tea."

"I've got tea. I can put some on for you." She stared at him as she stood up, wondering why he was so stiff. She moved into the kitchen, pots clanking and rattling. She returned, looking triumphant, and sat down next to him. "It'll be a minute til the water boils."

"So, were you just....in the neighborhood...?"

His eyes followed her practically the whole time. Wondering, studying this human woman. Though with no ill-thought at all. He liked her energy. His posture remained, even as she sat next to him - if not more.

"Well.. not quite. We shinigami rarely come to the human world - though.. well actually some time we have to. I was actually just here not too long ago.. but because of the war.. after the fight with Grimmjow and his fraccion me and the others I came with were called back for further preparations.

But.. no..." Toshiro wasn't sure or not whether to tell her that he was looking for her. Not knowing her well enough to know how she'd take that; he'd leave that out for now. He didn't want her to think ill of him.

“So, what? Did you come looking for me? I can’t think of any reason you’d be in DC.” She lifted a brow at him, crossing her arms and leaning back. She wasn’t sure if she liked the sound of that, but he seemed like a sweet kid so she wasn’t exactly worried.

“You keep calling yourself a shinigami. What is that again? I think Kid mentioned something like that…” Her voice trailed off, and she looked thoughtful. She should really pay more attention when her friends were talking to her.

"Sort of... it's... a bit like that. I was very curious - you know so much about those arrancar in a way I don't; so I wanted to see what their friends were like...? You seem really protective of your friends. Someone that... isn't a bad person."

Toshiro looked away, shifting on the couch so he sat on his legs; probably looking a little more childish that way; more his 'age'.

"A shinigami? Well, they're a 'death god' but - well on my world; we aren't exactly Gods. We're pure spiritual pressure. We aren't made of atoms like you guys. Spirit particles.. is our essence. We keep the balance in the world of the living... and we take souls that have passed on to the Soul Society; or, the afterlife! We... well, we also exorcise bad souls too.."

"You know how...creepy stalkerish that sounds, right?" She grinned at him, her way of showing she didn't mean any actual offense by what she said. "I've always been super protective of my friends, ever since I can remember. I don't like it when anyone talks shit. I count you as one of my friends to, so when they talk shit about you, I have to put my foot down."

She watched him shift, waiting for him to continue. When he did, she frowned.

"So...how can I even see you right now? If you're spiritual pressure, how come I can see you and not Ggio?" She gave him an experimental poke in the arm, just to see what would happen.

"Bad souls? Like, the Exorcist?"

"I am not... trying to be a stalker?" he was only vaguely familiar with the term anyway; they didn't have those sorts of issues back at the Soul Society. Byakuya did have quite the masses of fangirls; however.

Toshiro's small fingers strummed on his knees, and slowly he slid back, pulling his knees to his chest and listened to her, attentively. His body reflexively jerked when she poked his arm, and he scowled up at her with a blink.

"Oh, well-! Ah, the body you see now isn't my real body. It's a Gigai. A gigai is an artificial body that allows Shinigami to be seen in the living world. It can function and move exactly like a real human body could! Except; it isn't real. Including blood flow and everything. So for the mean time; I'm just like you, Maggie." he smiled softly; relaxing only a little ( ... )
