I'm not dead. I'm just in Deleware.

Let me set the stage, after 30 days of being away from the "shop" (Peds clinic) I return to do the intake on my first physical. Grace was a 4 year old bucket of cute. Pigtails and smiles etc etc. "Dad" I says," How do you feel about shotguns and barb-wire?" "I already have a dog" dad says" A BIG dog"
Good man.

So one of the steps we go through with out patients is a vision screen. For the younger of the peds crowd we have a Kinder-Enabled eye chart with shapes instead of letters.
Cause really when your 4, a T looks an awful lot like a F from 20 feet away.
Think about it kids.
So first Grace and I identify all the shapes, a moon, a cup a star a circle a heart and this is funny to me..
a cross. Not like the Christian cross or anything like that. More like the red cross on the ambulance.

what does Grace call it? " Doctor"

Kids got common sense. a red cross is pretty much sign for medical aid right? smart kid.

so she has 20/20 OD/OS.
we sit down and continue with the rest of the assessment and while doing the rest of it blood pressure etc etc.
I ask grace "Grace you did so good on the eye exam, what do you want to be when you get older?"

Grace:"Taller."

Common sense. Common sense coming out of her ears.

kids.
