Plato's theory of anamnesis- we all suffer from forgetfulness but we can begin to remember, teachers ot artists can cause people to recollect. We already know everything-teachers only remind us of what we already know. this goes against the idea of tabula rasa of the Christian ideas.We have forgotten everything important. 4 creations according to Campbell: female by herself-> female and consort(usually a snake that is a symbol of wisdom)-> corpse of the female goddess(still patriarchal but at least women were still involved)->creation by word(logos)
Genesis- spoke the world into creation. The act of speaking - creating and organizing the world, Male deity in the later creation story no female counterpart that we know of, which makes sense for the extremely patriachal society of the Hebrews
Greeks main source of information is Hesiod's Theogany(Birth of the gods)had the characters Gaia and Tartaros. Had the story of the the birth of the Olympians and of the later titanmachy which leaves Zeus as the king of the gods
