Random tidbits:
I hardly have a voice today - I feel fine (other than the sore throat), but there is definitely a frog in my throat (covered in spikes?) that causes me coughing fits whenever I talk. Not good, considering I'm training via a conference call tomorrow.
I love hockey. Thanks to
stars_gal, Biz and I went to see the Gwinnett Gladiators play on pink (!) ice last Saturday. The Gladiators beat the Wheeling Nailers (lame) in a fantastic game. I didn't see the Hipster family, but they were there somewhere.
My lunch with HOT!daniel had to be postponed indefinitely. sigh.
I got hired on permanently (meaning I keep my part-time position past the season) at the Container Store. Not many people did, so I feel lucky and happy about it.
ANY positiveness that I felt toward our secretary has gone out the window this morning. She's mean and has no tact. That I have come to learn. And she always seemed to be an indifferent pet owner, but this morning, she reached the cruelty level - at least in my opinion. I had to tell her to please stop talking to me this morning after she tried to justify putting her cat in a carrier and putting her outside this morning - no food, no water, nowhere to go to the bathroom, and probably scared. Why, you ask? Because the cat, who stays locked in a bedroom all the time, has started showing her unhappiness by peeing on a bathroom rug. Now, I'm not saying a cat should pee anywhere it wants, but the cat is peeing because she's unhappy. On a throw rug. If the rug isn't there, the cat pees in the box. And I'm not saying that the secretary doesn't have the right to choose to get rid of the cat - not at all - but I am saying that there is a proper and humane way and then there's putting the cat outside in a cat carrier for the day. Ugh.
My parents are in couples counseling and I think (hope) my dad's made a breakthrough of sorts. We'll see.
My sister is shipping my younger nephew off to military school to join the older one. He got suspended from school. Again. My sister has decided to get another job to keep them both there through the school year. I don't know if they're ever going to be productive members of society and that makes me sad.
And that's enough for this update.
