We just had an especially aggravating experience while trying to get a parking
permit. Armed with cash money (plus credit cards, just in case), a valid
driver's license and the car's registration & proof of insurance, all of which
indicate the place of residence, we were turned away because we didn't have a
utility bill. WHAT?? The city employee wouldn't take our money to get a sticker
for our vehicle because we didn't have a utility bill in hand!?! This is NOT
indicated on the web site anywhere that I could find.
Does anyone have any insight to this? Do you know someone I can call to report
the useless employee who refused to assist us in our time of confusion? Or do
you know who I can advise to update the web sight to have the information that
one would need in this situation?
I am SO aggravated with the situation that now I refuse to get a sticker, which
means that the city is, in essence, losing money. I'll park my car somewhere
safe during jazz fest, but I WILL NOT get a parking permit (nor a parking
ticket).
Thanks for listening. And thank you for any information you may have to share.
