For two weeks running, I've had to read horribly depressing children's books for class. Last week was Charlotte's Web, and today I read Bridge to Terabithia. Okay, I admit they aren't horrible or depressing, but they're both pretty darn sad books. My problem is I'm a sap and sad endings get to me, but at the same time I hate being a sap and therefore pretend the sad endings don't get to me.
School has begun eating my soul, but I've also been hit with the horrifying, terrifying, petrifying realization that in under eight months (!!!) I will have my bachelor's degree and will therefore be fully part of the adult world. I've pretty much decided that I want to go to grad school, and must now add 'deciding what to do with my life' and 'deciding where to go to grad school' and 'fretting over whether I'm even qualified, even though I probably am' to my growing list of Things to Occupy My Time.
So on the repeat of last week's Lost, I realized the patient Jack let die while he worked on his soon-to-be wife was named Rutherford. Like Shannon Rutherford. Yay for the tiny hidden links!
Tonight's Lost was infinitely more enjoyable for me than last week's. Mainly this is because I strongly dislike Jack, Kate and Locke, and last week's was the Jack, Kate and Locke hour. Tonight, however, we finally got to see what happened to Sawyer, Micheal and Jin, which was exciting. There were a few moments that were almost too Jaws-y for me, and there was something funky up with Sawyer's hair, but overall I enjoyed it. I wonder when Sawyer became such a trooper, though, digging that bullet out of his side and being all heroic while Micheal cried.
I had a bizarre flash of empathy with Kate, though, when she wasted escape time eating a chocolate bar. I would have done the same exact thing.
I'm excited about next week, though, because it looks like it's going to rock hardcore.
I guess I should go work on my %#&@ thesis, but probably I'll end up just going to bed and cramming all my thesis work into the hour and half that otherwise would be my lunchtime.
