The fic I wrote this year:
Avengers:
but my mind holds the key, Bruce Banner/Tony Stark, 1200 words. Bruce Banner is stealth-dated by Tony Stark.
Ood Happenings, Avengers/Doctor Who crossover, 1200 words. Iron Man and Thor get assistance from the Doctor when the Ood attempt to take over the planet.
the way out is through, Natasha/Clint, 1500 words. Little by little, Natasha becomes part of the team.
Debris of the Past, Steve and Tony gen, 2000 words. Fury sends Steve to Stark Tower to learn about modern technology, but the past is what Steve focuses on.
dreams of you still wash ashore, Thor/Loki, 1400 words. Thor does not want to give up on his brother.
Above Us Only Sky, Steve/Darcy, 1500 words. Darcy watches tv with Captain America now, because this is somehow her life.
Game of Thrones:
Beneath The Walls of Winterfell, Jon Snow and Robb Stark gen, 700 words. Jon feels uneasy in the crypts below Winterfell. (Set pre-series; no spoilers.)
To Dream of Home, Arya Stark gen, 1000 words. Arya misses Winterfell.
Teen Wolf:
til you bury them deep, Stiles/Derek, 1900 words. t’s Stiles’ moral responsibility to help Scott control his beast, so he goes to Derek for help.
Still of the Night, Stiles/Erica, 2700 words. Stiles and Erica go on a totally fake date. For reasons.
Weighs Heavy On the Soul, Stiles gen, 1100 words. Post 2x08, Stiles deals with his dad’s news.
Turn Off the Sun, Erica/Isaac/Jackson, 1300 words. The thing Erica didn’t expect about becoming a werewolf was how goddamn desperate for contact it made her. (Post-2x08)
Every Step You Take, Stiles/Derek, 50,000 words. Stiles accidentally ends up magically bound to Derek. It’s super.
look at the crystal moon, Isaac gen, 3000 words. Five hugs that Isaac gets from his pack.
no time to wallow in the mire, Stiles/Derek, 4100 words. Derek Hale fails at everything.
Don't Let The Sun Blast Your Shadow, Danny and Jackson gen, 2600 words. It’s not like Danny doesn’t understand that Beacon Hills is, well, a beacon for weird-ass shit. (Or, the one where Jackson 'rescues' Danny from a lacrosse field full of fairies.)
kiss me hard before you go, Allison/Lydia, 1500 words. Lydia and Allison spend the full moon together.
And for Yuletide:
Batgirl:
The Fortunate Ones, Stephanie Brown/Courtney Whitmore, 2600 words. Stephanie Brown and Courtney Whitmore have a romping superhero team-up.
Sons of Anarchy:
just a'leanin on my shovel (in this graveyard of dreams), Jax/Opie, 2800 words. Jax and Opie, through the years.
All in all, it was a decent year, writing wise! I wrote 19 stories that totalled 83,895 words.
I had a few long dry spells in there, as this list makes me look a little more productive than I actually was. I wrote all the Avengers stuff in a burst right after the movie came out, and was pretty proud of both the fics and the fandom response.
AND THEN TEEN WOLF HAPPENED. I don't even know, you guys, it ATE MY BRAIN and the next thing I knew I'd written multiple stories including an epic. And since this journal is my space and I'm talking about writing and response, the response to Every Step You Take has absolutely blown me away, to the point where I can't really THINK about how many people have read that story without getting a little alarmed. (I'm the kind of person who celebrates when ONE person likes my story. I don't really know how to deal with the fact that one of my stories has one hundred fifteen THOUSAND hits. It's very intimidating.)
At the end of summer, life slammed into me hard and I didn't really write anything at all until Yuletide, but then I surprised myself with writing an extra treat and branched out into entirely new territory, I've written in the Bat-family before (though never Stargirl, which was intimidating) but Sons of Anarchy was COMPLETELY new ground, and i'm just happy that the response to that has been positive.
I'm hoping to be a little more productive in 2013, especially on the finishing-things front because this year I let several good ideas languish and die.
It's also WEIRD that I wrote nothing bandom this year. Huh.
I was going to do one of the actual memes, but all my answers were basically going to be, "Every Step is the story I'm most proud of!" so... that sentence there pretty much accomplished what the meme would have.
