merfilly “Oracle, I don’t see any Columbian drug lords here,” Dinah said dubiously into her mic. She had better things to be doing tonight. It was Valentine’s Day! She could be... home watching a movie. Because it seemed like no one in Gotham respected holidays like she did.
“Just keep looking,” Barbara responded.
“But it’s a candy store!” Dinah protested as she heard the familiar click of Barbara disconnecting.
“Crazy lady,” she muttered before looking around again. She opened the glass counter of chocolates and peered inside. “Nope, no drug lords. Truffles, though.”
She had just taken a bite of one, leaning against the counter to savor the sinfully chocolate taste fully when she heard a light footstep behind her and a low voice in her ear. “Looks good enough to eat.”
“What- oh, Helena!” Dinah gasped, turning. “Oracle send you on a wild goose chase, too?”
‘Not quite,” Helena murmured. She leaned over the counter and took Dinah’s wrist in her hand, and licked the melted chocolate off her fingers. “I’m the Huntress, remember? I start chases.”
“Oh!” Dinah gasped as Helena climbed on the counter top and kissed her, pulling her in close. Helena’s grip on her wrist loosened and Dinah entwined their fingers as she dropped her other hand to Helena’s hip. “And I thought I was having to work a holiday.”
“Oh, I’ll make you work,” offered Helena with a grin, shifting so she could wrap a leg around Dinah’s waist.
Dinah laughed, throwing her head back as Helena moved down to nibbling her neck, and giving the security camera in the corner a grateful smile.
Gotham always surprised her, she thought. And this was way better than a movie at home alone.
Way better.

Ollie had gotten warning from Oracle moments before that an operative was taking down a smuggling ring in Star City, and he had rushed to help out. He’d only hoped a little that it was Dinah, and had been a lot disappointed when he saw the Huntress instead.
He’d jumped into the fray anyhow.
“You know, Canary told me all about you,” Huntress said, watching him out of one eye. “I gotta say, I’m impressed.”
Ollie notched an arrow and said, “Why, thank you.”
Huntress kicked a guy running at her in the face, then elbowed another thug in the throat. “I wasn’t complimenting you. I’m impressed that you could screw up so very completely. Takes talent. Or maybe effort. Which was it?”
“Did Dinah put you up to this?” Ollie tried to redirect the conversation.
A smirk. “She’d be horrified if she knew I was talking to you.”
“Then why are you?” Ollie muttered. There was nothing about this breakup he wanted to discuss with her. Or anybody. Damn it.
“I wanted to see if you had anything to say in your defense. And since you don’t...” Huntress knocked down the last of the thugs. “I think we’re done here.”
For once, Ollie was glad to see a beautiful woman go.
