I've been woefully slow at responding to comments these past few days, but I'm gradually showing my appreciation to you all. ♥ I'm down to my last drabble, as well, though I haven't been bit with inspiration for it yet. Maybe later.
I finally got to watch Supernatural yesterday.
GLEE. GLEE. Pure, unadulterated GLEE.
As if I weren't already head-over-heels for this show, they had to go and introduce slow-dancing aliens into the mix. That's just hee on top of tee hee, right there. That whole conversation with the abducted, probed fratboy had me dying.
And Dean and Sam's bitching at each other was so absolutely perfect.
And the POV shifts in the storytelling! The caricatures of each of the boys! Poor Bobby sitting there just shaking his head at the boys calling them an old married couple!
What a hilarious, awesome episode.
And, a complete shift to one of my other favorite shows...
Oh, Rome, Rome, Rome. You break my heart, you really do.
This week's theme seemed to be HEART-WRENCHING DEATH.
That being said, I adored both Cicero and Brutus' death scenes. Cicero's because it was bright and Pullo was so very polite ("Mind if I pick some peaches?" <333 ) and everyone except the wailing guy seemed to understand the inevitability of the action, and went about it in a noble fashion. Brutus's because of the lovely parallels to Caesar's death, and the sight of him walking into the waiting army was fantastically done.
Lovely and heartwrenching, both. <3
And the body scavenger ending up with Brutus's father's ring! This episode was all about clearing out the old institution in favor of the new, and this ending was good for hammering that point home. I can't wait to see what they do next week - where Vorenus's work with the Aventine is headed, how Octavian and Mark Antony function together when there isn't an army opposing them both, what Mark Antony is planning to do about Atia....
The subplots were all about sweet fluffity fluff love, which was clearly meant to make the deathity death better. Which it totally did. Eirene and Pullo are havin' a baby! His "I'm a proud papa!" look was the sweetest thing ever. And he invited her and Vorenus's kids to the Death of Cicero picnic, in which lil Lucius manages to undermine Cicero's final action by wearing the warning to Brutus as a hat.
And Agrippa and Octavia are too cute together. Both running in all flustered, seconds apart. They're just adorable.
There seemed to be a lot of class-consciousness going on, throughout all the threads. Very interesting.
