I have just spent an hour helping my sis think of prom themes, which resulted in watching Rod Stewart on youtube, which lead to watching Queen, which of course lead to Mika's Grace Kelly. It was almost too much perky music. Almost. (The other day I was saying how grateful I am that so many bands have found their sense of theatrics lately, because I love it.)
I was adventurous today and went to a Chinese and Japanese restaurant that's been in town forever but that I hadn't know anyone who had actually eaten there. It was actually wonderful, which was a pleasant surprise. Yay food!
Rome! I probably shouldn't just flail with glee every week, but I really can't help myself.
This week introduced New Octavian, as Old Octavian apparently (ironically) was too young to take over all of Rome. I kind of like New Octavian, and might actually like him as soon as I stop thinking, "Oh, Mr. Bingley!" in a faux British accent everytime he appears.
I adore Pullo, as always. He was perfect during the conversation at the fire. And I'm glad Vorenus is on the road to recovery, though his kids are clearly traumatized for life now. Sweet that he hugged lil Lucius, but really that sentiment was one murder/suicide (whichever way Niobe's death technically went down) too late.
So Atia is really rocking it this season. I love love love the way the first torture scene went down - Jocasta freaking and vomiting in the corner while Atia talked calmly about covering her own ass with legalities and Octavia was the same sort of annoyed as she was a few eps back with the figs. Complete love. Though Timon's sudden burst of conscious due to his supposedly pious brother wasn't my favorite. I kind of wanted Servilia to finally kick it, so Atia can focus on other things, but I suppose their rivalry will have to survive another day.
It seems like there's been a lot more sodomy than usual on this show lately.
On a completely different note, Agrippa is seven sorts of adorable, what with his uncontainable adoration of Octavia. I can't wait for New Octavian and his army to show up, because I want to see how they all function together.
I've been attempting to write, either on a new bunny I had or one of the half-finished fics that are mocking me from my hd, but have apparently lost all focus. So I'm going to try some 100 word drabbles to see if I can't kickstart things. If anyone has anything they'd like to see, feel free to make a request!
