should've taken more photos of food.

went to s.f. to visit bumpybear. i had tons of fun and was totally well-fed & spoiled. she and mr. bear took me to the usual fun touristy spots including fisherman's wharf, chinatown, japantown, de young museum, the japanese tea garden and many things inbetween. we had yummilicious food including fresh dimsum, ghirardelli's sundae, in-and-out burger, melon pan and mr. bear's superb cooking. we lounged around & watched dae jang geum, my lovely sam-soon...and fearless which bumpybear kindly translated for us. i spent lotsa downtime browsing her japanese doll magazines, yay dollybird. we played with sculpey...hehe. we also saw the 4th fireworks from atop a hill and was able to see the tiny fireworks in several areas from one spot which was pretty cool. the last thing we did was go to the Hyde concert at Slim's...which was f.u.n.

reviews.
SF! +++ wonderful city to visit and seems like a great place to live (if you can afford it). beautiful weather and a variety of cheap, yummy foods!!!

Dae Jang Geum! + it was surprisingly easy to get into this kdrama. it's about (the first?) korean female physician/surgeon(?). it's pretty long so i'll have to watch from the beginning when i have a good stretch of free time.

Fearless! i found it somewhat funny...although i'm sure it was meant to be serious. like other chinese movies, there are large plot holes, but the action was pretty entertaining as Jet Li movies usually are.

My Lovely Sam-Soon! ++ i keep meaning to finish this and i think i recced it before, but i'll mention it again. it's a very funny kdrama with excellent dialogue.

Hyde @ Slim's! +++ after waiting over an hour in the cold wind (darn ppl trying to take in cameras), we got into the small club. the small setting and the crowd of mostly short asians made seeing the stage fairly easy. there was an opening act...a local band whose name i've forgotten. Hyde started off with 'made in heaven' and played most of his songs from his new album. off-album notables were the cover of 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' and 'Unexpected' (both c/w single tracks). His MC was cute and in better english that i've heard him speak before.

+++a million thanks to bumpybear (who even took me to her extremely fun-looking workplace) and mr. bear.

(i guess i'll play catch-up online this weekend)
