The Queen has enforced new fashion guidelines banning midriffs, miniskirts and spaghetti-strap dresses at this year’s Royal Ascot race meeting.

Toronto exists in more than one way at a time; it is many places at once. Its architecture and plan make this obvious over and over. Consider the mundane gift, not especially common in North American cities, of having its major university right in the middle of town, traffic and commerce flowing around and through it. 1.  I have glass bowls that always make me think of breast implants.

2.  Ontario's laws have been amended to allow more food on the street than hot dogs.  OMG, am I happy about that.  I can't wait for the burrito carts.

I've got a lot of Motown music on my iPod right now.  There's a lot of songs from the sixties that come up, a lot of protest-type songs - Ball of Confusion, War, What's Goin' On...  It's a little weird to me how many of these are still completely relevant.  Like, no change in lyrics or anything ( Read more... )

While buying coffee today, I was told that I look like Brittany Murphy. Keeping my horoscope's theme of gratitude in mind, I am going to take that to mean cute 'Clueless' and 'Girl Interrupted' Brittany and not the scary coke-whore of recent years.

I have to tell you how much I love Justin Timberlake's new album. It is entirely awesome, and not just on a cheese level. I think he's pretty talented, and he's gotten some brilliant tracks from his producers... Anyway, if you like pop/dance, give it a go ( Read more... )
