Thought I'd post my latest creation. It's supposed to be banana & dark chocolate biscotti and strawberries, both dipped in chocolate and a mix of vanilla chips and cinnamon. Leeann was nice enough to cut my hair a day or two ago, so the above was made for her.
I ran into some problems though, as this is my first time making this:
-the big slab of dark chocolate I picked up was very tart, causing the biscotti to have a bit of a tart taste.
-formed the bars too thick, resulting in rather stumpy biscotti. Tried to squish them down when they were far to into the baking process.
-no double boiler, so I had to rig one up.
-thought I could get away with microwaving the vanilla chips, but they burnt, so I had to throw them out and go the double boiler route as well.
-attempted to move one loaf while it was cooling and busted it in half.
-no wax paper, so chocolate stuck to EVERYTHING. Chipped multiple times and had to reapply.
-vanilla chips started to clump after melting for too long, so the drizzle effect turned into more of a clumpy, spackley look.
-burnt the poor guys a little somehow. Damn.
Not a bad first, but probably not nearly as good as
my first pizza.
I suppose I could ramble on about what I've been up to like usual, but I don't feel like wasting that kind of time right now. Abridged version: parties, musical, jazz bands, peppermint schnapps, lack of sleep, battle of the bands, first paycheck from DE, screaming at computers, bruises, decorated room.
Oh, and my computer hates me. I can only boot in safe mode now.
2 weeks until finals.
