so, i finally got to have some great vietnamese food friday night, and i helped make some of it!! it's because one of the girls here is vietnamese, and she had the great idea of having a bunch of us (around 16 i think) get together at this one guys house to cook. i don't know the name of anything i ate, but it was all great. there was this sweet shrimp thing that was made by deep frying sweet potato slices and shrimp in this sugar and flour mix. it was so great. and then we ate spring rolls and this bowl of bbq chicken and pork with rice noodles, lettuce, cilantro, and this thin sauce that tasted like it had lemon juice in it. then for desert we had some sort of pudding, that we have like 800 pounds of to finish this week. it was all really good, and i hope there's still shrimp left over in the fridge at work.

yesterday i went to rodeo drive with a few girls to just look around. one girl was completely right when she said it was like visiting a museum and looking at the pieces trying to figure out what the hell the artist was thinking when he/she decided to make something. we also went into prada and figured out that all the clothing stores close at 6pm. it was kinda scary because all of a sudden this huge metal wall started to come down to close off the front of the store and all these alarms started going off as our que to get out. the whole store was weird though, because we had to look through half of it just to figure out where we were because ther was no sign on the front of it. just these two naked statues that had their backs to us, one male and one female. at first one of the girls thought it was a bathroom, but then we saw that they had clothes and pursues inside, and then she said "they sell clothes in the bathrooms too!?", but alas it was not a bathroom. although i wouldn't have been surprised if it was. this place is weird. we also saw a couple of women who had a few too many botox injections and face lifts. it's great. i wanted to take a picture of this one lady who was smiling at us, but also wasn't, but that would have been rude. but we did take a picture of the sign that said "rodeo drive plastic surgery" with all the doctors' names. i guess they wanted to make it convenient for you to buy your new face with your new outfit all in the same day! man this place is weird.

probably the most exciting part of my weekend was being able to watch andre agassi play tennis for free!! they're playing the mercedes-benz cup here and we get a pretty good view of the tennis court from our floor (with a little obstruction of one side because of this big ol' tree that's in the way, but i can't complain). i missed him play on monday because of stupid work. and he's really the only big name in the tournament. roddick was supposed to be here, but pulled out because of "a knee injury" but whatever. at least agassi is here. it's so great; in fact, i need to leave now because i think he's playing in the finals today. so until next time.
