Taking the day off of work today because I went to the midnight showing of Deathly Hallows last night with some friends. It wa great sitting in a theater packed with people who genuinely love the franchise! And, it was actually so quiet you could hear a pin drop, with no cellphone activity...what a novelty! Yes, about Alan Rickman. I too was noticing that. Ditto Malfoy, although I was feeling even sorrier for Draco.

Ron is a problem. I'm sure the actor is an intelligent and professional young man, and I certainly don't fault his acting. But the character is coming through as coarse and low class, rather than plucky and cute, and it's hard to picture Hermione in love with him.

I expected to find it harder to follow, since several people have made comments to that effect, but I didn't.

As for the amateurishness, I heard that they were having a hard time getting it out by the deadline, which is why it turned out to not be in 3D as planned. Maybe that explains a lot.
