Talking point #1: Happy New Year.

2006 was a pretty good year for me. It saw me get a pretty decent job, go in and out of therapy, and develop some pretty nifty back and wrist problems. Hopefully 2007 will be even better. I want to take this chance to mention my New Years' Resolutions:

#1: Move out of my parent's house by 2008.
#2: Give up Coca-Cola for Lent.
#3: Finish at least 2 of my demo comics.
#4: Start performing comedy before the year's end.

Things are finally winding down at work. The Christmas madness is finally over and now the store is regaining it's composure. The less stress at work has also given me more strength to pick up a pencil and getting back into sketching.

Talking point #2: My computer.

It's becoming pretty apparent right now that the computer I've had in my bedroom has reached it's full potential and that that is not enough for what I need it to do. Currently, I'm amassing computer components to build into a better, stronger, faster work that will take care of my duties when working on art. I've already got some key parts, like a new case for the whole of the system to be built into, and a shiny new 24" LCD monitor (yeah, it's a big motherfucker). I'll need to grab video and sound cards, a new motherboard, processor, and input devices. Next on my purchasing list is a new Wacom Intuos3 9x12 tablet which I can get for a fantastic price thanks to my position at Best Buy.

It's gonna cost me quite a bit of cash, but I'm gonna restrict myself to buying one component per paycheck. The computer may finally be completed somewhere in March or April.

Talking point #3: I have no talking point #3.

Talking point #4: I want to be out of this house by Christmas 2007. As I stated earlier with the building of a new computer, I'm limiting myself to one component per paycheck. The remainder of that check will go into my savings toward an apartment of my own (minus a few luxuries, like food or the occasional video game or movie and such).

So this year will end up being much better than last year. Why? Well, it can't get any worse, can it?
