Here's a link to a blog post I just wrote over at Home Solutions:
http://www.homesolutionswny.com/2013/09/16/one-right-way-nah/ I had set a goal of trying to post once a week. Somewhere along the line that train jumped the tracks, but I'm trying to get back to it because I really enjoy writing them.
I went to a Wordpress all-day seminar on Saturday - WordCamp - and learned how to improve my website's functionality, recommended plug-ins, tips and tricks, etc. 9:30 a.m - 5:30 p.m. Whew! Now I have to implement some of the awesome stuff I learned. One suggestion that came up repeatedly is to consistently publish blog posts. One tip was to decide on a frequency - say, once a week - and create an editorial calendar, maybe even pre-write some posts that would be easy to nail down by date, or just have a stash of them at the ready for when life throws a time-bomb at your schedule.
Speaking of bombs, right now my desk looks like a paper bomb exploded on it. Good grief, where's my lighter? Ok, I don't have a lighter. This is what happens when you get almost caught up and then you spend a whole day at a wedding in Canandaigua and the next whole day at WordCamp and then the NEXT whole day procrastinating about your paper-bombed desk.
Ok, nose to the grindstone. The key, I believe, is to avoid facebook for the next 3 hours. Except to see who "likes" my blog post link. Or who commented on my "get over yourself" post...it's the work of the devil, it is.
P.S. I had an incredibly difficult time inserting a link up there. I couldn't copy and paste, it made me hand-type the whole thing in. What up w'that? AND, where the hell is spellcheck?
