I've fallen head over heels...

...and I never saw THAT coming.

No,no, not a new hubby. A new car! When I sat down with the sales rep, I was all "just the facts, ma'am."

"Look," I told her, "I'm not a car person. Cars are strictly utilitarian things to get me from here to there and back again and haul all the stuff I need with me when I get there, that's it. I don't want to play any games, either. I want a reliable used car with low mileage that's going to last me 10 years."

So I drove this and fell in love. It's a 2013 Subaru Outback with 10,000 miles and an incredible bumper-to-bumper warranty that even includes wear on everything but the tires. Brakes, wiper blades...covered. Heated seats, heated side mirrors, and heated wipers. It's silver with what looks like a teeny, tiny, titch of blue tint to the color.

I know, right? *happy sigh*

Oh, and the upstairs tenants moved out of our duplex so we went in and did a bunch of painting. This was the first time we had to advertise and rent to strangers, but we found what feels like the perfect match for surly youth #1 and his buddy, who live downstairs. It's two brothers, both employed, clean background/credit check and their references raved - current boss, former boss, college professor. They had a chance to meet my son at work and everyone really hit it off. Big sports fans, too, which is nice for the guys. Here's a link to a shutterfly album I created to share with friends when we started looking for tenants. What an ordeal it was; I'm glad that's over.
