Hello, it's me...

Well, my plan to start posting more obviously fell by the wayside in short order.

We celebrated my dad's 92nd birthday this weekend. My brother and nephew flew in from D.C. for the weekend, and I think a good time was had by all. For the most part, my dad and mom are still independent. It's little things; for example, their answering machine isn't working for the third time in as many months. They push buttons that shouldn't be pushed and then can't figure out how to undo things. It's like Mrs. Wiggins on the old Carol Burnett Show: "Don't touch that button..."

In other breaking news, my business website has made the move to a Wordpress platform and is up and running. I'd love feedback if you're feeling so inclined. Oh, and I've hired an employee - did I mention that in here already? She's a great worker, and loves being part of my business. She had her own organizing business a few years back, but wasn't making enough money to sustain it. I don't have a lot of hours for her just yet, but she's also working as a lifeguard at the YMCA as well as being a paid swim team coach. She's got a set schedule with those jobs, so I know when she's available to work for me and I'm really looking forward to passing off some of the hands-on work to her. She gets paid and I make money as well. Win-win.

Here's a link to my latest blog post over there. I hope to write more of these with an organizing/downsizing related theme tied in to a some sort of personal perspective.

I was diagnosed with shingles on the very same day as felixwas but have a much, much milder case than he has been plagued with. I wouldn't wish his symptoms on my worst enemy, and hope he gets some relief soon. Do yourself a big fat favor and don't ever, EVER do a google search for images of shingles. Ever.

life, work
