realization

Well, it's been a long journey over the years, but I believe I'm finally coming to understand the world and the different planes of existence. My belief is that all religious writings have the same source, even if they've been skewed and mistranslated over the centuries. I also believe that at one time the different planes mingled harmoniously and that we as humans abandoned what is now often called eden, or sometimes 'otherworld' or other various things. Many of our writings even today seek to capture this loss in words. Some of the people who understood the loss wrote about it. One of my favorites has always been the tales of Peter Pan and his lost boys. The magic of 'Neverland' lives in the heart of every child that has heard this tale. There are so many 'neverlands' out there that it almost seems at times that our entire entertainment community is focused on helping us escape this world. Another of my favorites is the world of Arda. The way he sets up his world is symbolic of the way the different planes are separated here. The hidden magical world that is leaving away to the 'west' and going away from the middling world, the 'middle earth'. Yes, that's the real reason it's called that. Although I wonder at times if we are moving one way or another. Further east or west. Perhaps both. But Tolkien was aware of the darkness of mankind as well as the light, and placed our greatest cities symbolically very close to that darkness, whereas Lothlorien, Rivendell, and the Shire were all further west, and The elves, whose very existence was dependent on the light, were slowly being forced to leave, much the way the fairies of Neverland would die as we moved away from them. The reason the story of the elves is so sad is because mankind sees it and remembers on a deeper level that at one time elves did live among us, and we lost them; and the loss of that light at times has left us groping, 'naked in the dark', to quote Frodo, as he journeyed through hell itself, as far from that light as we can get. But what makes it worse is, the elves did not really leave us, as they left middle earth; no. In truth we are the ones that left them, seeking power in knowledge and forsaking magic, and the light of the universe.

It always seems that the few people that understand this, even subconsiously, are the creative minds. The greatest power we possess, given to us by God himself, is that of creation, which is what is truly meant when it was said that we were created in His image. Imaginaiton, mixed with love, and determination, can do just about anything. Including finding Neverland, which is now one of my favorite films, coincidentally. But I believe that we all have within us the power to do what Professor Tolkien did in creating a new world, and at the same time not creating or making it up; but rather, remembering our true past, by simply stopping, and staring across that sea at the horizon. Trust me, if you just look hard enough; It is there. Valinor, Neverland, and the Garden of Eden, along with so many other places that supposedly never existed. The truth is they've always been there for us. We have only to remember. The sea is always calling us home.

Jesus told us that we must come to Him as children. And deep in my heart, that is what I will always be. For a child's heart holds the greatest power of all. And they know that the world is so huge that you could never take it all in. And for them, every experience is magical. Your perspective really does determine your reality. Your self-world. If you think the world a small place, then it will be. Likewise, if you think you are already living in Heaven, then you will be. The mundane world can hold us down sometimes, but it cannot rob us of our true reality; which is determined solely by you. Living in darkness is a choice, which I lived with for many years. Until I was able to accept the fact that I was the only one holding myself down, and then flew away, to higher ground. Many people go through this transformation, and some call it rebirth; and in many ways that's true. But you can't be born again without becoming a completely different person. However, you can change.

well, I would love to write more, but some of this I feel is perhaps too personal, and I'm becoming sleepy. so, I bid you goodnight.
